VSSA's Parent Education is pleased to an upcoming event through our School Speaker Alliance of Los Angeles (SSALA) membership.

Author of the bestseller Permission to Feel, Marc is a professor in the Child Study Center at Yale School of Medicine and is the founding director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence.

As a researcher for over 20 years, he has focused on the role of emotions and emotional intelligence in learning, decision making, creativity, relationships, health, and performance. His evidence-based approach to social and emotional learning has been adopted by nearly 2,000 schools across the United States and in other countries. Marc has published 125 scholarly articles and received numerous awards for his work in this area and regularly consults with organizations ranging from Google to the White House.

In this event, he will educate the SSALA parent community about the value of emotions and the skills associated with using them wisely, thereby helping us parent more effectively and raise healthier, more resilient children.
