Parent Club Descriptions
Healing Together Club Leader's: Tiffany Harris (P'31,‘32) & Jenn Halpern, LCSW (P’29,'32) Schedule - Monthly The Healing Together Club is for parents navigating chronic pain, loss and/or grief. Together, we’ll share (or simply listen), support one another, and heal — one step at a time.
The Writing Salon Club Leader's: Fiona Wong (P’29, ‘27) & Maxine Hurt (P’29) Schedule - Weekdays during the day. Events - Depending on the number of participants, we can meet in cafes, museums, group members' homes. This club will be an intimate, creative, and encouraging space to support writers at any stage of their writing journey. The club will cater to the specific needs of the group members in order to ensure that it is relevant and productive. Activities can include sharing a writer’s work and receiving feedback; analyzing excerpts of exceptional writing for inspiration; learning about notable writers and their process; learning how to improve elements of writing such as writing dialogue, and developing rich characters; hearing from industry experts in regards to manuscript editing, finding an agent, and publishing. Foremost, we want members to feel inspired and part of a community of individuals that share a love of the written word.
Walking Club Club Leader's: Erica Ginsberg (P’29,’32) & Michelle Nelson (P '30) Schedule - Monthly or every other month - September, October, November, December Events - TBD
Viewpoint School Parent Book Chats Club Leader: Sarah Davis Schedule - TBD Events - Join Viewpoint parents and alumni parents for informal book chats. We will choose a fiction book together and read and discuss the book. Meetings will be held on weekday evenings.
Parents’ Night Out Club Club Leader's: Annie Goto (P’29) Nicole Darway (P’32'29) & Michelle Kajan (P’29) Schedule - Every other month - starting in September & November. Members meet for dinners, lunches, etc. with an RSVP link.
Museum & Garden Goers Club Club Leader: Teresa Hames (P’29) Schedule - Once per trimester with possible visits at Getty Villa, Getty Center, LACMA, Hammer Museum, Lotusland, etc. Members meet up to visit local area museums and gardens.
Dads’ Basketball Club Club Leader: Paul Gembus (P’29) Schedule - Sundays @ 8:00AM / Wednesdays @ 7:30PM @PFAC (Paul Family Athletic Center) Viewpoint School Maximum per session - 15-20 people Members join the WhatsApp Group and submit a waiver before playing.
Knitting Club Club Leader's: Els Mitchum (P’23,’26) & Lyn Kabakoff (P’27) Schedule - Weekdays once a month progressing to weekly. Ideally 10-15 people per event. Explore the many crafts to create art with fibers. Knitting will be the core art that we explore. But we will also feature crafts such as crochet, needle point, and macrame. In this casual group setting, you will have the opportunity to learn, share your knowledge, and collaborate with each other. We will feature knit-alongs, guest fiber artists, and field trips.
Women In Business Club Leaders: Ronnie Gor (P'23, '28) & Colette Brown (P'27) Schedule - Meetings once a month. The Women in Business Club is an inclusive space where everyone’s ideas and expertise are welcomed to support our speaker series, workshops, and shared tools that enhance and strengthen our community of women in business. We value your business acumen, experience, and support for our community. Together, we can make a difference in our lives and in the lives of others—by inspiring, supporting, and learning from one another.
Movie Matinee Club Club Leaders: Alexandra Hughes (P'24, 27) & Pauline Martin ( P'27) Viewpoint parents are invited to join Movie Club! We’ll gather approximately once a month for a weekday matinee. It’s an easy way to connect with others who enjoy films while sharing good company. Our first movie will be Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale, with theaters selected near Calabasas or Woodland Hills. Come for the show, stay for the conversation, and enjoy time with fellow movie fans.
Board Game Club Club Leader: Lawrence Hughes (P'24, 27) The Viewpoint Board Game Club hosts monthly evening board game get-togethers for Viewpoint parents. Meetings will be hosted in Tarzana from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm and light refreshments will be provided. There will be three different games played each meeting on three different tables; members will have the opportunity to sign-up for the game of their choice prior to arriving.
Community Service Club Do you enjoy helping others? Are you passionate about making a difference? Looking for a weekend activity for you and your family? Would you like to meet up with other families from Viewpoint that share those same feelings?! Join us in the Community Service Club! We will begin with an event every other month. There are no costs involved - just your passion and your energy to help others.
Mystical Moon Circle Club The Mystical Moon Circle Club offers a unique way to connect with the natural world by focusing on the rhythms and wonders of the moon. Members gather to explore how the moon and its phases influence life on earth including nocturnal wildlife, plant life, the environment, and our own lives. It's a space for contemplative appreciation of the natural world under the gentle glow of the moon. Our activities could include anything from simply gathering for coffee and conversation after drop off to a relaxed night hike to watch the moon rise - a peaceful, magical way to connect with the wild. The possibilities are endless!
